Deficiency of Breast Milk:  What you can do?

The milk inside a woman’s breast is naturally produced by the body when she becomes pregnant. Its quantity is usually enough to supply all the needs of her baby whether she has one, twins, triplets or even more. However, there are certain cases that little, if not none at all, would come out of her breasts and she would have to find other ways to feed her baby.

During these cases, the deficiency of milk in a woman’s body is mostly blamed on the lack of right nutrition. This could be associated with the mother not being able to take in the right food that contains vitamins and minerals that would help her body produce milk.

In order to remedy the deficiency of milk, mothers are usually told to take in soups. It would also be best to ask for help from a doctor and other medical experts so that the right solution can be given. If you are a mother who is facing problems like this, you might want to be careful in taking in anything, especially nutritional supplements, because it could affect your child should he or she start feeding from your milk. If you are unsure about what to take in, it is best to ask professional help rather than acting as a doctor and finding remedies yourself.

It is very important that a remedy be tried when there is deficiency of milk because there could be many effects when this happens. For one, the breast milk cannot be substituted, if possible, by any Infant formula. No matter how well formulated the milk may be, it could never be taken as a replacement over mom’s milk.

Many studies have shown what good effects the mother’s breast milk can bring to its child. Breast fed children have a better disposition than those fed with Infant formula. They have also been found to be healthier and are in lesser risk to getting any illnesses and diseases, whether major or minor. Aside from that, the times that a mother feeds her child from her milk is a chance for them to bond, giving the two a tighter and stronger relationship.
Surely, you would not want to sacrifice your baby’s health or the relationship between the two of you just because of your deficiency of milk.
If you do something about it, you have nothing to lose and instead, you will gain so much more!
